FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

1. What does PUG mean?
PUG is an acronym for Pick-Up Game. It could also mean "a small breed of dog with a wrinkly, short muzzled face".


2. What's so special about a PUG?
PUGs provide a more competitive level of play than PUBS (public servers), but without the hassle of leagues. It's all for fun, and all skill levels are welcome. Just keep a good attitude and have some fun! You can learn a lot!


3. How are teams chosen?
Teams are selected from a pool of available players by team captains. They are also chosen like Pokemon.


4. Will I get chosen if I suck?
It doesn't matter if you suck or not! Just join, get to know us, and you'll be an awesome player in no time!


5. What are the rules of PUGs?
The rules of the PUGs can be found at the bottom of this post!


6. What maps will be played?
The maps will be chosen by the captains at the PUG. The most common maps will probably be push maps such as CP_Badlands and CP_Well.


7. How do I join?
Just follow these 9001 easy steps:

.........2. Join our Ventrilo server at the given time/day (information is above).
.........3. Put the class you want to play/are good at in your comment.

8. Do you guys host other PUGs if I can't make the scheduled ones?
Yes, we absolutely do! Watch out for any notices from the WDF Steam group, or just stay in vent and cross your fingers!

WDF PUG Rules

These are the rules for the WDF Pick-Up Games! Please follow these rules.

1. Players are required to connect to Ventrilo and stay in Ventrilo for the entire event.

2. If a player must leave the PUG after it has started, they must notify an admin and find a substitute (the subs in the SUB Ventrillo channel get priority). Once the sub is in and playing, the player is allowed to leave the PUG. DO NOT LEAVE A PUG IN PROGRESS WITHOUT NOTIFYING AN ADMIN. Doing so is disruptive to the game. Please plan ahead to ensure you are not interrupted.
..........2a. If a sub is needed, they must be pulled from the sub channel if available. You are not allowed to pull in someone off your friends list when there is a sub waiting in the sub channel.

3. Players being disruptive during the PUG (not adhering to class restrictions, not listening to their captain, etc.) will be warned once. If the player ignores the warning and continues to be disruptive, they will be banned from the PUG.

4. Being abusive (racism/sexism/rude or other distasteful comments) or disruptive, ruining the game for other players will result in a ban from the PUG. Racism will result in a 30 day ban from all servers.

5. Players may join the PUG server even if they are not playing in order to spectate. They must join spectate.

6. Any exploiting of the map or character, or hacking will result in a permanent ban.

WDF Class restrictions

1. The Sandman, is banned from use, do not use it.
2. Class limits:
..........6v6: Maximum of 1 medic, 1 demoman, and two of every other class.
..........7v7: Maximum of 1 medic, 1 demoman, and two of every other class.
..........8v8: Maximum of 2 medics(1 kritzkrieg and 1 uber), 1 demoman, and two of every other class.
..........9v9: Highlander rules, 1 of every class

Chance for some casual WDF scrims?

Hey guys!

There's this clan that started playing TF2 earlier this year called Einherjar. They have a great community and have LARGE divisions in games including WoW (Reborn) and EVE (Einherjar Rising). They are pretty well organized and stuff like that. I have friends in the community from back before I even heard of WDF.

Anyways, I wanted to ask if anyone in WDF would be interested in scrimming them once in a while (6v6, 7v7, etc.). People from the scrim team AND other WDF members are welcome! They are able to provide a server (they would change their pub server into a private one for the duration of the scrim) but we could also play on ours. This would just be your casual scrim game (no leagues or anything).

If you're interested in playing against them, please tell me so we could get a couple scrims going and have some great fun!

I have decided to make a casual scrim team called JosephMG's Scrim Team of Doom. J-STD for short (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) . Everyone on the team must be active members of the WDF community. This is just going to be a more organized and expanded version of what we have been doing so far with EHJ.
